At BoomGen, we are interested in stories from or about the NEAR EAST, CENTRAL SOUTH ASIA, and NORTH AFRICA regions—a vast geographical area that shares thousands of years of trade and commerce, culture and storytelling.
Our projects vary in form and genre: if you have SCIENCE FICTION idea that ties into this region in someway, we’d be interested to hear about it. If you have an idea for a YOUTUBE CHANNEL starring you (or your cousin) that will decipher the complicated socio-political issues of the region today in new and original ways, then are all ears, especially if you have a built-in core audience.
In a nutshell, if you think you have a winner idea but don’t know how to SHAPE IT FOR THE BIG LEAGUES or how to navigate the complicated media landscape, then it’s probably a good idea to get in touch! We would love to hear about it.
To start, all you have to do is DOWNLOAD THE SUBMISSION RELEASE FORM. Fill it out completely. Sign it. Send us your idea. But before you do, consider this:
While everyone can have great ideas, the business of storytelling is a professional trade like any other. It takes many years to learn how to write a script or shape a TV show. It takes loads of practice to be in front of a camera. And it takes loads of time and money to get a project made. So if you are not professionally trained chances are you don’t have the skills to see this through. There are exceptions to any rule of course, but if you are going to send us your materials make sure you have done your due diligence. Great ideas are a dime a dozen. The real value is in the execution of ideas. On that note…
As you can imagine, we receive a ton of requests and ideas. And we also have our own ideas and incubate projects internally all the time. It is quite likely that your idea is not as unique as you think. Sometimes we or someone else may have the same idea you do. Because many proposals might cover similar territory or in some cases appear almost identical in content or format, we ask you to COMPLETELY fill out the submission release form, and mail back everything to the address listed on the form. Any material sent without a completed submission release form attached will be discarded immediately.
